For the infants who have become mobile, this class provides a safe yet challenging environment for the babies to explore, roll, crawl, climb and interact.

Both parents and infants receive individualized attention. The class explores concepts of:

  • conscious, cooperative care giving to support attachment and attainment

This session is for parents with toddlers that are confident walkers, who are developing language skills, and are busy discovering the world. Parents can best support their unfolding capacities by the use of rhythm and routine that will be demonstrated in each class.

We will show you how a  peaceful and calm atmosphere can help parents spend a quiet, nurturing  time with their children which will strengthen your relationship and enhance your confidence as a parent.

While the children take time to socialize and engage in free play, adults will focus on being in the moment while setting the tone with meaningful activities such as:

  • Simple housekeeping tasks
  • Bread-baking
  • Crafting simple toys

These activities allow your child to explore and begin the journey to free play. We will also spend time in outdoor play, facilitating the toddler's innate connection to the wonders of the natural world. Tips for caregiving and parenting along with insights into child development will be demonstrated. A homemade snack and a delightful ‘song and puppet story circle’ will be shared.

PROGRAM DETAILS

This session is for parents with children 2 to 3.2 years of age.

In these classes you and your child will experience the rhythms of a Waldorf early childhood classroom morning in a beautiful home-like environment. We begin with plenty of  time for the children to play creatively and explore inside our space.

While the children play, parents busy themselves with baking, and a variety of toy making and artistic activities which the children can choose to help with. Also, I will show how to observe and point out developmental milestones of your child and ways on how you can enhance each one of them at home.

You and your child will experience activities all together during ‘circle time’ which includes seasonal songs and verses, as well as nourishing homemade snacks with herb teas, seated around our community table. We will have outdoor playtime that offers natural, developmentally appropriate materials for young children to explore self-balance, movement and the beginnings of social interactions, and includes ample time to just enjoy nature. The class concludes with a puppet story and a goodbye circle.

  • During this class your child will:
  • Develop sensory foundations
  • Explore physical/motor foundations
  • Engage with peers to develop social capacities
  • Experience the joy of language and pre-literacy development through simple puppet stories and seasonal songs and games
  • Have an opportunity to participate in wet-on-wet watercolor painting, simple handcrafting projects and domestic activities
